District Cooling Facility
The District Cooling Facility was constructed to provide over 8,000 tons of chilled water to the Water Street District in downtown Tampa. This centralized facility will reduce overall operating costs and eliminate the need for unsightly cooling equipment on roofs of neighboring buildings.
The project included (4) 3,000 AMP 480v 3 Phase services, rough-in for (2) future 3,000 AMP 480V 2 Phase services, and connections to (3) chillers, condenser pumps, and associated cooling towers. Borrell Electric was able to successfully layout and install all electrical equipment while maintaining all required clearances within a very congested plant. The plant was commissioned and turned over for Owner use 4th quarter of 2019.
