Tampa CEP Upgrades

The Tampa General Hospital CEP Upgrades was awarded to Borrell Electric Co., Inc. under a design/assist project delivery method, while self-performing General Contracting and Electrical Services. The contract value for the CEP Upgrades was approximately $13,000,000.00, and during the pre-construction phase, Borrell reduced the budget by 8% through innovative solutions. 

The project included a 15 kV double-end, dual fed, unit substation, a single-end essential substation, 8 new automatic transfer switches, and 5 new 480V motor control centers. Borrell also self-performed the installation and all medium voltage terminations for a 15 kV underground site distribution loop to feed the hospitals new essential substation. Borrell Electric Co., Inc. successfully completed the electrical service for the Tampa General Hospital Expansion in August 2008.
